Sixteen players earned direct invitations through the official SNK World Championship 2026 Ranking system, while the remaining 16 competitors qualified through regional leagues and wildcard opportunities, including the ENC Solidarity slot. China's Xiao Hai enters ENC 26 as the No. 1 seed and one of the tournament's most feared competitors. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in FGC history, Xiao Hai has built a legendary career through decades of success across multiple fighting game titles. He enters Riyadh with significant momentum after winning the EVO 2026 Grand Championship earlier this year.

Standing as his biggest rival is Japan's GO1, another FGC legend who has repeatedly faced Xiao Hai on the biggest stages. GO1's dominance peaked in 2025, when he claimed three Tier 1 tournament victories and cemented himself among the world's best FATAL FURY players. Known for his defensive mastery and ability to adapt throughout a set, GO1's patient style could prove especially effective in ENC 26's longer match formats.

GO1 will look to recreate his Esports World Cup 2025 performance, where he defeated Xiao Hai to claim the championship. However, with Xiao Hai entering ENC 26 as the player to beat, their latest chapter could be their most competitive matchup yet.

Flying under the radar

Representing Mexico, Daniel "Dany" Fuentes Garcia enters ENC 26 as a potential podium contender and one of the biggest threats to the East Asian favorites. After earning top-four finishes at both EVO 2026 and S Factor X3, Dany has proven he can compete with the world's best. His aggressive playstyle will be tested against opponents like Xiao Hai and GO1, two of the game's most renowned defensive specialists.

Japan's other representative, Naoki "Nemo" Nemoto, enters the tournament as one of the most dangerous bracket spoilers. The 41-year-old veteran secured his place on the main stage by winning the highly competitive East Asia Regional Qualifier and has remained one of the world's most respected competitors. After narrowly missing out on major titles in 2026 to his fellow Japanese player GO1, Nemo will look to add another chapter to his storied career by claiming the ENC 26 championship.

FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves at Esports Nations Cup 2026 takes place from November 12-15, with 32 representatives competing for the $250,000 prize pool. Only one player will claim the inaugural ENC championship and bring national glory back home.
